Caleb can say his own name! Finally! It's music to my ears! I love hearing him saying his name. He also started to speak more recently. Still no full sentences but 3 - 4 connecting words at least. I know kids develop at different rate but I'm still quite anxious about his speech development and errmm....height development...as he ain't too tall. He is about 13kg now. Short n plump?
Sad to say but he's still not toilet trained yet. Life's been hectic to 2 kids...but I really ought to start the training soon...still thinking how to start. This fully-carpeted house we are staying in is not going to make it easy. Besides, Caleb doesn't tell me before he does his wee or poo. He normally tells after he finishes his poopoo but at times, he don't! He can play and run around in his soiled nappies with no trouble! Sigh....any good suggestions on toilet training?
Caleb has his very own collection of dvds and he picks whatever he wants to watch and operates the dvd player on his own. He knows when the show is going to end and he will slot in another disc fast enough before we could even switch to tv mode! He's a tv hogger!
He is into swords/ guns fighting....think he's been watching too many violent shows. We don't buy him any toy swords or guns or soldiers. But he uses things like his colour pencils, his toy fishing rod, his foam ball bat, his toy guitar, his ride-on horse on stick, his bolsters etc. to use pretend as his weapons. *faint* Positive thinking wise, pretend play is good as he uses his imagination. Negative thinking wise, violence is bad for their development. hmm...how?
His love for books is something I'm very proud of. Sometimes he reads books on his own, but most of the time he will ask someone to read it to him. He never gets tired of his books, can read it over and over again but he normally picks the newest book to read first.
His fussiness for food is still a problem. I will normally let him self feed first and after he eats whatever he can...which is usually very little, then I will spoon feed him after. Some bribery (lollies) is required most of the time to get him to finish his meal during spoon-feeding. He got a sweet tooth...just like his mummy & daddy.
He loves to play with his friends now...well...frankly speaking, only a selected few. He chooses who he wants to play with. He always try to be the leader, wanting his friends to follow him wherever he goes. At his childcare, I was told that the kids in his class likes to follow him around the outdoor play area, doing whatever he does. Guess, he is born to lead? He can be bully too. I notice him pushing kids around, some even bigger size than him! He seems to know who can be bullied and who can't. Those sobby ones, quiet ones, he will go bully. Those bigger kids or fiercer than him, he will avoid.
Caleb started to get used to having his little sister around. Sometimes, I noticed that he will lie next to Caitlin and will read his book together with her. And when she cries, he will sometimes give her a pat. And when she sneezes, sometimes, he will use a tissue to wipe her nose. (Well...not as clean as I thought, mucas ends up all over her face! :P) But of course, he still does get jealous at times too! When Caitlin cries and she gets to be cuddled, he will come over and wants a cuddle too. I guess this is evitable as he wants to be loved too and he is afterall still a big baby.
